The TRON Realm: Chevrolet Digital Experience is an interactive pavilion in Shanghai divided into three immersive zones: Imagine, Create, and Drive.
Inside the pavilion, guests can virtually try on high-tech Light Suits, customize next-generation concept cars, and pilot a virtual Light Runner from a custom driving pod.
As an associate software developer, my responsibilities stretched beyond traditional programming. I took ownership of specifying all interactive hardware, delivering facility inputs, and managing the on-site field installation of all experiences in Shanghai. I also directly led our external software vendor to ensure technical execution matched the project’s ambitious scope.
Because these guest experiences were entirely hands-on, we built a full-scale physical mockup locally for development, testing, and fine-tuning. Our primary challenges were balancing strict Chevrolet branding requirements with universal design principles, ensuring the interactive elements were fully accessible and intuitive to players of all ages, cultures, and languages.
